Venue - Demmitt Community Centre

Located between Grande Prairie, Alberta and Dawson Creek , BC, the Demmitt Community Centre is a beautiful timber frame, straw bale building on the original site of a school and previous hall.  Built with sustainability in mind, it was constructed using local materials such as beetle killed pine, local straw, and recycled gym floor.  Other sustainable elements are passive solar and composting toilets.   Recently the hall has added grid tied solar panels to produce most of it's electricity needs.  Real time production can be accessed here. For rental inquiries for events such as weddings, family reunions etc, check out their website at www.demmittculturalsociety.org.
